Our next step up is the single stringer eps/epoxy board. In this construction, the boards are lighter and stronger than the standard polyurethane surfboard. Pressure denting under your feet is reduced about 30% compared to the polyurethane/polyester boards. Eps/epoxy boards have a bit more float and the flex is different so they have a unique feel, some riders say that they are too sensitive. The negatives of the eps/epoxy boards is they feel the water surface chatter. The eps foam core transmits more vibration to your feet and they don't ride as smooth as a normal polyurethane board. On average, these boards last 3 times as long as a normal polyurethane board if taken care of properly. Eps/epoxy boards are more sensitive to heat and dings need to be fixed ASAP with epoxy resins only.
For my customers that don't like the vibration and chatter of the standard eps/epoxy construction, we have the dual density parabolic eps/epoxy. After 6 months of r&d, we have developed an epoxy board that feels and rides like the best polyurethane/polyester board but has the strength of an epoxy board. Our custom combination of different density foams are put together to give you a board that has NO chatter, NO vibration only that silky smooth feeling you know and trust. The parabolic eps/epoxy is 4 times stronger than your standard polyurethane board and has none of the negative riding characteristics that eps foam boards are known for. This it what I personally ride and I think it is the best riding, longest lasting board for the price. These are less sensitive to heat than the standard eps/epoxy board and dings are still fixed with epoxy resin.
For the absolute top of the line surfboard that is near "bullet proof", we have the parabolic eps/epoxy composite board. We take the dual density parabolic eps/epoxy core and laminate the decks and bottoms with a beautiful wood veiner. These boards ride like the best polyurethane board and are at least 5 times stronger. The parabolic eps/epoxy composite construction doesn't transmit surface chatter to your feet, barely pressure dent and are nearly impossible to break. After months of hard riding, these boards look virtually new. Don't mistake these for a firewire or surftech, every one of these surfboards is custom shaped by me and manufactured here at our factory in Hawaii.
